On Wednesday, May 2nd, Members of the Lionville Fire Company traveled to the Chester County Public Safety Training Center, in South Coatesville, to attend the graduation ceremonies, for Firefighter William “Guy” Pyne.

Guy completed the 10 week, 180 hour “recruit” level basic firefighting course, from the Chester County Department of Emergency Services. The goal of this course is to provide a person, with little or no previous fire service training or experience, with the basic knowledge and skills required to function safely and effectively as a member of a fire suppression team, functioning in today’s environment. During this course, Students also received training in Hazardous Materials, CPR/AED, and Structural Fire Fighting.

The Lionville Fire Company is extremely proud of the accomplishments of Firefighter Pyne, who also spoke on behalf of the entire graduating class, during the ceremony.

Congratulations Guy, and the entire Chester County Recruit Class 1801!
