December 8, 2022

Last night for our weekly drill night, Lionville Volunteers reviewed the response to and mitigation of chimney fires. This included the various types of chimneys found in structures and how to safely extinguish a fire in one.

Our friends from The National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) recommend that, “Chimneys, fireplaces, and vents shall be inspected at least once a year for soundness, freedom from deposits, and correct clearances. Cleaning, maintenance, and repairs shall be done if necessary.
