USAR Assist to Bucks County

On Monday, July 17th, at 5:30AM, members of The Lionville Fire Company were dispatched, along with The Fame Fire Company (53) and a paramedic from The Berwyn Fire Company (2) as part of the Chester County Rescue Task Force (72) Urban Search & Rescue (USAR) discipline to respond to Upper Makefield Township in Bucks County. This was a South Eastern PA Regional USAR Response to assist in the search and rescue of two children missing after they were swept away in flash flooding that occurred on Saturday evening. Chester County personnel along with personnel from Delaware County USAR conducted a extensive search of the area. Lionville Volunteers operated for over 12 hours. Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who have been impacted by this tragedy.
