On Monday, February 7th at 5:20AM, The Lionville Fire Company was dispatched to assist The Downingtown Fire Department and other mutual aid units for a reported apartment building fire in East Caln Township. Downingtown fire units arrived to find a working fire in one of the apartments and began extinguishing the fire. Engine 47-2 arrived, crews laddered the balcony of the building and rescued 2 trapped occupants from the second floor, while the crew from Tower 45 (Downingtown - Alert) rescued 2 additional occupants from the third floor. Crews also stretched an additional hose line to the third floor to assist with fire suppression and overhaul of the structure. Lionville Volunteers operated at this incident for over an hour. Special thank you to The Modena Fire Company for standing by in our district while we operated at this fire. Photo Credit: |
