On Saturday, April 23rd, The Southeastern PA Regional Task Force held a full-scale joint exercise at The Philadelphia Fire Academy. Members of both The Lionville Fire Company and Fame Fire Company formed the Chester County Rescue Task Force USAR team. Teams worked on multiple scenarios at the same time to perform rescues of victims of a building and parking garage which had collapsed, after a hazardous materials incident and subsequent explosion. Chester County, work closely with crews from Montgomery County, Delaware County, The City of Philadelphia, and Pennsylvania Task Force 1, to complete these difficult tasks of shoring buildings, cutting and breaking concrete, and lifting concrete, in order to search for, and free trapped victims. This was a great opportunity for everyone to put their skills and training to use.
