Today our hearts are heavy as we mourn the sudden loss of one of our own.

John (Jack) Sledgeski, our Fire Police Captain passed away last evening after our monthly fire company meeting.

Jack was born in 1948 and has deep roots in the Baltimore Maryland area, where he served from 1972-1993 with the Lake Shore Volunteer Fire Company, serving a variety of roles, including Assistant Fire Chief. Jack was also part of the Baltimore City Fire Department Auxiliary.

At our recent company banquet, Jack was celebrated for completing ten years of continuous service to our community. Jack served his role as Fire Police Captain with pride and was relentless in his pursuit of having the best safety measures in place to make sure we were all protected while operating on scene.

Jack and his wife Linda lived in Chester Springs, they have a daughter, Amy, and son, Matthew, as well as five grandchildren.

We will continue to remember Jack for everything he was to our company over his tenure. He had a kind demeanor and was always smiling. He was a caring individual, who not only loved life, but loved to talk about what made him happy, and more importantly, what made you happy.

Jack, we thank you for your years of service, not only the Lionville Fire Company, but also your service in defending our country with the United States Army and serving in the Vietnam Conflict.

Rest in peace to our dear friend, Fire Police Captain, Jack Sledgeski… We will take it from here.
